The Holy Spirit as a Teacher

The Heavenly Father is the most perfect example of how an earthly father should be

The Lord Jesus is our example of how to live as a Citizen of the Kingdom of God

The Holy Spirit is our example of how a Teacher should teach and guide a student.

The Holy Spirit Humbles Himself to serve us as does The Father and Jesus.

In this is our example of how people in authority should serve as well as mentor others.

All The Holy Spirit does for you is out of His perfect love for you

He does not force you to believe what He is teaching you as He will not go against your freewill. He gives you all the information you need to decide for or against what He is teaching you and gently guides you with the truths you need to know to make a decision for or against it. He does this until you reach a decision in regard to whether to accept or reject what He is trying to teach you.

He only tells you factual truth and does not teach knowledge for the sake of knowledge or promote theories that have no factual basis. His objective is to give you wisdom (applied knowledge) and not just information (Duet 29:29).

He always guides you to focus on Jesus and His Will or Guidelines in all you do as He builds the Kingdom of God in and through you.

He guides you and tells you what you need to know to live and serve Jesus but focuses on the spiritual aspects of these so that you will learn the spiritual truths you need to know to live as a Citizen of The Kingdom of God. He also teaches you how to apply these truths to daily life.

He is always there for you, waiting to help or guide you so you will learn to live as God desires you too live.

He never criticizes you negatively as He points out things to you that you are doing wrong. He constructively helps you as you seek to overcome a problem or weakness that you have and walks beside you as He gently guides you through trials and the attacks of Satan.

He never asks you to do or deal with more than you are able too. But helps you to do what God asks you to do.

He never speaks a harsh, unkind, legalistic or negative word to you. His speech is always sound. Seasoned with Grace to build you up and encourage you.

He does not react negatively to anything you do. He may not like or condone what you do but He does not reject you for doing it and He will help you in any way He can to overcome any problems or weaknesses you have so you will stop doing the wrong things you are doing.

He is Love and all He does for and to you is done out of this attitude of Perfect Love. Exhibiting the 'Fruit of The Holy Spirit' in all he does for you (1 Cor 13:4-7, Gal 5:22-23)

He is your example of how you are to mentor others in spiritual things and the things of daily living.

You could not ask for a better teacher. But you must want to learn from Him as well as do what He tells you to do.

How you listen to Him will determine your salvation and whether you go to heaven or hell when you die.

The Holy Spirit is a servant and because of this is a good teacher. A teacher is a servant of both Jesus and you.

Learn to hear and obey The Holy Spirit so you will learn what you need too so that you will not be found wanting when you face Jesus and give Him an account of your life

He reveals The Kingdom of God

One of the roles of The Holy Spirit is to reveal The Kingdom of God and its requirements to people (Job 32:8, Jn 16:13).

Jesus revealed The Kingdom of God and its authority. The Holy Spirit was sent by The Father on behalf of Jesus so people would understand what they needed to know about The Kingdom of God and be guided by The Holy Spirit to be able to live the life The Kingdom of God requires of them.

The Spirit marks us as belonging to The Kingdom of God and then does all that is necessary to guide us and empower us to represent The Kingdom of God in the same manner Jesus did!

If you are not representing The Kingdom of God in the way Jesus did then examine your relationship to The Holy Spirit as it may be incorrect.

You should be either: representing The Kingdom, fighting for it, teaching it, demonstrating it, learning how to do these or resting from the battle with Satan.

The Holy Spirit and Teaching ( Jn 16:13, Job 32:8)

God has personally prepared a path for you (Eph 2:10). You are not a clone and neither is your life. It is a path specifically tailored by God to be that which is best for you and which will mould you most closely to His character, and prepare you to be forever with God in His Kingdom.

On this path is every task God has for you to do for the purposes of serving The Kingdom and the salvation and rewards that result from this.

The only Teacher you have who knows this path is The Holy Spirit and He will personally guide you and teach you all you need to know as well as empower you to live it (Acts 1:8). No weekly spoon-fed Bible study or sermon is sufficient as the Christian life is a minute by minute walk and not an hourly, daily or weekly event.

This us why you constantly need to study, memorize and meditate on The Bible so that The Holy Spirit can use it to guide and teach you what you need to know to live as God desires you too!

These activities need to be a constant part of your life as they change you from within. Through these activities The Holy Spirit shows you the truths you need to set you free from the lies of Satan. Displacing his lies and replacing them with the truths of God (Jn 8:32). This does not remove a demon but makes them less effective in their attacks on you. It is deliverance and/or spiritual warfare that removes them, their attacks and their influence on you.

You must learn to walk with one ear on The Holy Spirit so that He can Teach you the Things of The Kingdom of God and guide you to do the work of that Kingdom.

Why is important to study what The Holy Spirit does in the life of a fol- lower of Jesus?

For the first 70 years of Christianity there were people alive who had seen Jesus, touched Him, ate with Him, learnt from Him, seen His miracles both before and after His death and resurrection. They knew Him and had seen his miracles as well as His rising from the dead.

We do not have that luxury now and people will usually only see Jesus now through the life of a Citizen of The Kingdom of God, which is the expression of their faith in Him and of their relationship with Him.

The Holy Spirit is your guide in teaching you about Jesus and His requirements and directly affects how you express Jesus in your life. Without His guidance, teaching and empowerment you really cannot live your life as a follower of Jesus: representing and showing Jesus, representing His Kingdom the way He desires us too through the way you live as His follower (a citizen of His kingdom).

It is He that gives you understanding of how to live for Jesus and empowers you to do the miracles that demonstrate The Kingdom of God. Hence the need to know about Him, to study about His role in your life as well as how to hear His guidance more clearly. This is so He can better teach you how to live in a way that will show to the world Jesus, as well as the difference knowing

and following Jesus makes in a person. Crucially though, He teaches you how to serve (obey) Jesus as a citizen of His Kingdom.

There is no excuse for not knowing what The Spirit wants to teach you as He knows best how to give you understanding of what God wants you to learn so you will be able to understand if you want too! And we also have the promise of God to those who want to learn about Him:

Jn 7:17 If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself

Acts 17:11 These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.

It is all a matter of attitude.
