The Glory of God

Imagine how much greater we are than an atom in our bodies.

Then imagine how much greater the universe is than us.

Then imagine how much greater the universe is to that atom in our bodies.

But God is infinitely greater than that!

Yet He relates to each one of us individually

and deals with each one of us personally.

Who am I that He does this?

Who am I

You die for me

and hang yourself

Upon that tree.

God’s Glory is because of His Nature:  Who He is.  He does not need to do anything to bring Him Glory.

Do we Give Glory to God for whom He is and not just for what He does?

A part of expression of our intimacy is our giving Him Glory out of appreciation for whom He is.

Definition of Glory

The definitions of Glory all refer to a result of some sort into three categories:

The expression of His Character as God

His appearance as God

His activities at God.

They are all subjective definitions based on how a person experiencing one of these three areas describes what they perceive as a Glory of God.

These manifestations may or may not be seen on earth in the physical plane as some may only be seen when our spiritual eyes are opened.

The expression of His character, the most Perfect Love ever known, brings Him praise, adoration and wonder, which is the essence of recognition of Glory.

His appearance is mentioned in the Bible and in the appearances to people in visions.  Once again the descriptions of God fits in with what defines a Glorious appearance.

His activities are wonderful and bring Him great Glory.  These are dealt with in the next chapter.

What is Glory and how do we relate to God’s Glory?

When God does something.  It brings him Glory.  Praise and adoration result after the act that causes God to receive Glory.

Glory is the result of the demonstration that results in an act that is the usual an amazing and beneficial.  Glory is the result of a reaction to an act that is so wonderful we break into praise, adoration and all worship.  In a sense, Glory is in the perception of the Observer.  If no one is there to see the Glory is it still Glory?

We may see something God does is being glorious, but Satan would see it as a threat and perceive the opposite way to what we perceive it to be.

Glory is perceived in the eye of the beholder and will be appreciated in different degrees, according to the perception of its beholder.  So that there can be no definite scale of Glory in the eyes of man as it varies according to the perception of the beholder.

So if no one is there to see the act that results in Glory, is there any Glory?

Does a person need to be there for Glory to be perceived to an act that God does?

In other words, those Glory occur to God if no one is there to see it.

Your perception of God's glory depends on your ability to see or on how much of it God allows you to see of it.

Not all will see the glory of God in the same way or to the same degree as their perception of it will be different.

To argue this way makes man important in seeing God’s Glory but that is the wrong way to look at it.

God does not change.  All he does brings Him Glory because He is God and all He does are acts of God.  The fact that no one is there to see the act does not change its nature of being an act that brings him Glory.  The fact that all He does expresses and brings Him Glory is a natural part of His Character by virtue of resulting from who He is.

Our degree of perception of the Glory associated with an act cannot affect its degree of appreciation or magnitude.  But it does limit our appreciation of the act that brings God Glory.

Whenever God acts it is to the maximum that can be done in that act and brings him maximum Glory.  This maximum Glory occurs whether or not anyone is set to see it.

As you grow closer and more intimate with God He is able to reveal to you more of his Glory.  But we will never see the fullness of His Glory.  As it is impossible for us to comprehend all He does as well as the fullness of His Glory associated with any act He does.

All we can do is to be thankful for what He does for us and be appreciative of thankful for what he reveals to us of His Glory.

The more we are unable to replicate an act that brings God glory, the greater it is in our eyes as well as the admiration and wonder of it and what we perceive to be the glory associated with it.

The degree of Glory we perceive will be determined by how far above us is our ability to perform that act.

All God's acts are so far above our ability to perform them that all will have great glory attached to them in our perception of them.  If you do not see His Glory as you should, you need to ask why you do not see it that way.  Your perception of them may be inadequate or you do not understand or appreciate what God has done.

Those who are saved and pursue their relationship with God will see His Glory as a positive thing in a more increasing way.  Those who are not, will not see it or if they do will fear it is as Satan guides all hinders their not seeing it.  This is because God's glory always works against him and judges him and his works.

Satan tries to obtain Glory through what he does.  If Christians do not try and stop him, he succeeds after a fashion, but not like God does.  Whenever he succeeds against God in a major way he has a type of glory.

God will not give to another or his praise or Glory which is why Satan tries to displace God and take His Glory from him in the understanding of a person as by this He hides God from that person..

We are not to take Glory from God.  We are to reflect it, so that people see it is God who has done the act and we are only His instruments used by Him to do the act that brings Him Glory.  He also says we are not to divert, His Glory to anything we make (Graven images).

Only as you desire to bring glory to the Lord Jesus and show, His quality of Love in all you do will use serve Him properly.  This is because you are fulfilling the requirements of Ministry:

You are not trying to take Glory from God.

You are Ministry to others with the Love He has towards them.

With these two correct attitudes, you will begin to Minister correctly each time so that success, as God and not the world measures it, will be assured.  You will be a servant who truly has on your heart what your master desires you to have.  You will then be a profitable servant who will enter into all the rewards.  The master has few.

The Greatness of God’s Activities

Things He has done

These bring Glory to Him alone.  Like His Character and appearance, these are things far above man’s ability.

All was at peace and in unity with God.  God was alone by Himself in His Kingdom.

He created Angels that truly reflect the Glory of God in nature, appearance and activity.  They look like God, (as He has shown Himself to us) have a character like God and are able to do far more than we are able too. They truly reflect God.

God then created every thing and gave order to the universe.

Heaven was created for man to live in.

He then created life, Every attempt to clone a human has failed as they cannot give them life

Hell was created for Satan and his demons, Satan caused creation to be defiled so could no longer live in the undefiled Heaven.  It was holy and he and his demons were defiled.  God created hell in the defiled creation as a prison for them.

God became a man.  How can God, infinite and eternal, fit into a man?  How can The Holy spirit presence be in a person.

Gog died on a cross and redeemed mankind. The eternal, living God died on a cross!

Things to come which will show His Glory.

The defeat of Satan and his Antichrist before the Millennium.  Satan’a world system is destroyed and replaced by a thousand year reign of Jesus in which He shows how Satan should have reigned,  and by this judge him.  Showing He is righteous in throwing Satan and all that he ruled into the Lake of Fire.

The magnificence and Glory of the Great White throne judgment, Where all receive their rewards or final judgment sentence after hell and all that is in it is thrown into the Lake of Fire

God then removes the defiled creation and makes a new, perfect, oneso it can once again be part of the Kingdom of God.

And all is at peace and in unity again with God!

The things we can do to bring Glory to God and obtain reflected Glory through doing these things

Our reflected Glory occurs as one ministers to Him in accordance with His Will bringing Him Glory

As we demonstrate The Kingdom of God we visibly bring Him Glory and by being used by Him we reflect His Glory.  It is like a mirror. You see in the mirror the reflection of the real thing.  As Gods' Glory is shown through our actions it points to God and what He has done to make this event occur.

We may receive recognition and a type of Glory. But really we should be pointing to God who really has done all to allow us to bring the event into existence and give Him all the Glory for the event.

We have no right to take praise or Glory.  All we have done is allowed God to use us and obey Him to do what He has asked of us to.

Man only has reflected Glory because God:

prepares Him for the service to Him

prepares the service for him

Empowers the man to do the service

How do you reflect God’s Glory?

Through your correct participation in The act that gives Him Glory.

How do you place yourself in a position to receive God’s reflected Glory?

Through proper obedience. Being in a correct relationship with Him by being in the centre of His Will.

How do we demonstrate the Kingdom of GOd and obtain reflected Glory?

“All power (authority) is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in My name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.””

Show His quality of Love

Endure trials and Martyrdom for Him

Tell others of what He has done for them

Obey Him because you love Him in all He asks you to do

Conclusion

God’s Glory is seen in the eye of its beholder according to the way and degree God allows them to see it.

The closer you become to God.  The more of His Glory He can show you.  So if you want to see more of God’s Glory aim to increase the closeness and intimacy of the relationship you have with Him.
