When Jesus is discussed these days it tends to be very theological. In reality it should be about our relationship with Him as well as what He has done for us and taught for us to do.
This book is not a theological study but more an attempt to show the intimacy and relationship we have with Jesus so we will approach Him in a completely different way - more as a friend who loves us rather than a King or God over us.
Theology has to be mentioned but I hope it does not get in the road of seeing how much Jesus Loves you and does for you.
How do you see Jesus?
What is your vision of Him?
According to how you see Him
Will be determined how you relate to Him
If you see Him as King
He will be your Lord
If you see Him as Redeemer
He will be your Love
If you see Him as Saviour
You will obey Him to keep it
According to your vision of Jesus
Will be your service to Him”

I saw a man, wearing a long white robe tied with a rope of the same colour, walking towards where I was lying. There was a brilliant light around Him as though it were radiating from Him. He was wearing brown sandals; His features were like people from the Middle East, with a beautiful tanned skin. His face was very kind and full of glory but I was unable to look Him in the eyes. When He spoke, His voice was tender, kind and loving, yet authoritative; waves of love were emanating from His very being.
From the vision of Angelica Zambrano
As I looked, I saw a beautiful, tall, elegant, muscular man. Light was projecting from Him. There was too much light for me to see His face! But I could see His beautiful hair of brilliant gold and a white garment with a wide golden girdle that crossed His chest. It read, “KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.” I looked at His feet, He was wearing shiny golden sandals, of brilliant gold. He was so beautiful
6. He who, while he was in the form of God, did not esteem this as a prize, that he was the equal of God,
7. But he stripped himself and took the form of a Servant and was in the form of the children of men, and was found in fashion as a man.
8. And he humbled himself and was obedient unto death, even the death of being crucified.
9. Because of this, God has also greatly exalted him and he has given him The Name which is greater than all names,
10.That in The Name of Jesus, every knee shall bow, which is in Heaven and in The Earth and which is under The Earth,
11.And every tongue shall confess that Jesus The Messiah is THE LORD JEHOVAH to the glory of God his Father
I asked The Lord Jesus what He wanted to emphasise in this chapter. He said:
He is Lord!
He must be obeyed!
He desires you to obey because of your love for Him.
His commandments are not suggestions which have ways of avoiding them:
His Law of Love Jn 13:34-35:
“I give a new commandment to you: ‘Love one another; just as I have loved you, you should also love one another. Every person will know by this that you are my disciples, if you shall have love one to the other.”
The proclamation of The Gospel Matt 28:18-20 which is what His death at Calvary did for us:
18 And Jesus spoke with them and he said to them, “All au- thority has been given to me in Heaven and in the earth; in the manner in which my Father has sent me, I am sending you.”
19 “Therefore go disciple all the nations and baptize them in the name of The Father and The Son and The Spirit of Holi- ness.”
20 “And instruct them to keep everything whatever I have com- manded you, and behold, I am with you every day, even unto the end of time. Amen”
He also said that the demonstration of The Kingdom of God, which shows the Authority of Jesus, would be demonstrated by those who believed in who He is Mark 16:17-18:
17. “But these signs will accompany these who believe: in my name they will cast out demons, and they will speak in new languages.”
18.“And they will take up snakes, and if they should drink lethal poison, it will not harm them, and they will place their hands on the sick and they will be healed.”
If you know God’s requirements and do not do them then you are in continual disobedience and are in danger of Going to hell. Jesus stated this principle in Rev 3:4-5
4.“But I have a few names in Sardis, those who have not defiled their garments, and they walk before me in white and they are worthy.”
5.“He who overcomes in this way is garbed with a white garment, and I shall not blot out his name from The Book of Life and I shall confess his name before my Father and before his Angels.”
Those that obey Jesus and do His work, which will result in them defeating (overcoming), Satan will go to heaven.
There are a few reasons which Jesus will accept for not doing His work. If you are:
Resting from the battle
Learning how to Battle
Teaching others how to battle
Have an illness or incapacity which stops you from being involved in the battle (mental or physical)
You are not able to understand that you need to Battle.
You do not understand or know how to battle
You need deliverance to be able to battle
Jesus understands the problems you have but He still requires you to wholeheartedly try and learn how to overcome these problems with The help of The Holy Spirit which He has given you to guide and teach you individually His requirements of you.
If you love Jesus and believe in who He is then these commands should be fulfilled as a natural out flowing of your life. If they are not, then perhaps you need deliverance or training so they can be expressed naturally in all you do.
If you are willing to fight this battle The Holy Spirit will guide you in how to do it and show you where, when and how you are to do it (Jn 16:13) as well as help you in any way he can (that you let Him) to successfully do what Jesus wants.
There is really little excuse for not doing the work of Jesus as He will never ask you to do more than He has prepared you to be able to do and He will help you if you try to do it. And remember His work includes learning how to do it!
Success in doing the work of Jesus is measured in faithfulness and not by the result as Jesus may want you to do something that will fail so He can use it in another person's life. You are only required to faithfully obey and not necessarily to succeed.
Obey The Holy Spirit and you will satisfy God’s requirements of you in these and all other areas. He will only ask you to obey God in what you know and are able to do (Duet 29:29) and will teach you the things of God you need to know and guide you in them so that you are able to do more in the battle.
If Jesus is God then you are a fool to not obey Him in everything He requires you to do.
One day you will face Jesus and He will ask you what you did with your life and the other things He trusted you with, of which The Gospel, and the demonstration of The Kingdom of God, are two of these things.
Your answer will depend on how you obeyed Him and on this will be determined your eternal fate.
You have been warned. God has provided all you need to obey and serve Him with so that you are without any excuse for not doing these things or at least wholeheartedly trying to do these things.
What makes Jesus attractive to people?
The freedom He offers from:
The hope He gives us
A place in Heaven
A relationship with God
A positive outlook for life and eternity
The healing He gives us”
The Love He has for us that drives Him to do all these things for us:
He made us when He did not need too (He is complete in Himself and does not need us)
He died to redeem us so we could be with Him forever and He did not need too
He give us all we need now and in eternity when He does not need too
He prepares for us a place to go too when we die as well as prepares us to go to that place. He does not need to do this.
The Bible declares Jesus to be God
Mark 6:26-27 And his disciples saw him, that he was walking on the water, and they were alarmed and they were saying, “It is an illusion!”, and they cried out in fear. But Jesus immediately spoke with them and he said, “Take heart; I AM THE LIVING GOD*. Do not be afraid.”
Luke 14:62. But Jesus said to him, “I AM THE LIVING GOD, and you shall behold The Son of Man sitting at the right hand of Power and coming on the clouds of Heaven.”
Gen 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
Jesus is God and took part in creation in His capacity as God, This means:
He created you
He owns you
He has the right to say what happens to you when you die
He is in control of everything
He is to be obeyed
His Character is stamped on creation as it is an expression of His creative energies expressing who He is.
He is the focus of all in creation in one way or another. He is the Lawgiver of creation
He is the judge of all who ever live (angel, demon or person)
All must face Him and give an account of:
What they did with what He trusted them with as stewards,
Their life on earth,
possessions they were trusted with,
Ministry He trusted them with
How they were stewards of their mind, soul and spirit.
How they related to everyone: God, angels, demons people.
Heb 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:
2 Cor 5:10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.
Jn 13:34.“I give a new commandment to you: ‘Love one another; just as I have loved you, you should also love one another.’ “
He has given us only one commandment, to do all things with the same type of Love He shows when He deals with us. This is especially important in the way we relate to God and others and is the attitude we should serve God and them in. All other of His commandments flow from this expression of God’s Love.
If we Love Jesus we will desire others to love and relate to Him as we do. So we will go out and preach The Gospel which is telling others what Jesus has done for us and can do for them.
It is hypocritical to say you love as Jesus does but do not tell others how He has helped you and how they can enter into the salvation relation- ship that you have with Him.
If we see them as He and The Father sees them then we will love them as children of The Father even though we must hate what they do at times.
Rom 14:10 But why are you judging your brother, or why do you even despise your brother? For all of us are going to stand before the judgment seat of The Messiah*
Mat 10:28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.
As He is God, He is the only one who has power of eternal life or death over you. So you need to be certain you are doing what He wants you to do or you risk eternal death. This means you need to know:
How to obtain eternal life
How He requires you to live in this life
How to do what He requires of you to preserve the eternal life He has given you.
These are all found in The Bible. Which is why you need to study it, memorise it, meditate on it and apply it to your life. The Holy Spirit will teach you what you need to know if you really want to know it (Jn 7:17, 16:13).
Jn 17:3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee (The Father) the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.
2 Pet 3:18 But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
You need to be in a personal relationship with The Father and Jesus (as guided by The Holy Spirit. You need to relate to God the Father and Jesus as Lord of your heart. Only when He is Lord of your heart (so that you try to obey Him wholeheartedly in all things) can He be your saviour.
You will not go to hell because you tried and failed. You will go to hell because you did not try at all or gave up and walked away from Jesus for no valid reason.
Remember, this life is preparation or eternity and is the training ground for eternity. This is why you need to learn now the attitudes you will need in eternity. The basic attitude is love, that same type of Love that Jesus shows to you. All that is in the relationship we have with Jesus should be a result from our love for Him.
Tit 2:14.Who gave himself in our place to redeem us from all evil and to purify a new people for himself, which is zealous of good works
Gal 3:13.But The Messiah has redeemed us from the curse of The Written Law, and he became a curse in our place, for it is written: “Cursed is everyone who is hanged on a tree”,
Jesus removed all that prevented you from relating to the Father. This means you have to do nothing to satisfy God’s requirements of you except to believe in who Jesus is (God), obey Him, accept what He had done for you at Calvary (removed the punishment we should have received for your sins removing every barrier blocking you from a close, intimate relationship with God).
Mat 28:18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
Phil 2:10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;
We are citizens of The Kingdom of heaven
He is our Ruler whom out of Love for us provides for all our needs if we seek to know Him more intimately and seek what is best for His Kingdom (do His Will, Mat 6:33).
Mat 6:33 But seek ye first The Kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
In fact God requires us to do this:
Jn 6:28 And they were saying to him, “What shall we do to work the service of God?”
29 Jesus answered and said to them: “This is the service of God, that you trust in him whom he has sent.”
Belief in whom Jesus is results in Him being obeyed as Lord and Saviour. If it does not then you do not realize or understand who Jesus is.
Obedience and service to God should be done out of love for Jesus. Not for a reward (which God promises you anyway) and not because you are forced too like the demons are forced to obey Jesus.
Jn 14: 15.“If you love me, keep my commandments.”
Relationship to him as a person (brother or sister)
Jesus calls us His friend (one who does not ignore or oppose Him) if we obey His Will.
Brother or sister: Rom. 8:14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
Friend: Jn. 15:14 Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.
Jesus calls us His family (Brethren)
Mat 12:48-48.But he answered and said to him who told him, “Who is my mother and who are my brothers?”
49.And he stretched his hands toward his disciples and said, “Behold my mother and behold my brothers!”
50.“For everyone who does the will of my Father who is in Heaven, the same is my brother and my sister and my mother.”
If we are for His purposes *what is on His Heart) He calls us brethren (part of His family) because we work with Him intimately (more than just a friend would be) to help Him (be used by Him) to do His will, just as a loving family member would be.
Unless we realize our relationships to Jesus we cannot relate to Him as we should.
The work of The Father was the most important thing to Jesus
Luke 2:41-50 Now his parents went to Jerusalem every year at the feast of the passover. And when he was twelve years old, they went up to Jerusalem after the custom of the feast. And when they had fulfilled the days, as they returned, the child Jesus tarried behind in Jerusalem; and Joseph and his mother knew not of it. But they, supposing him to have been in the company, went a day’s journey; and they sought him among their kinsfolk and acquaintance. And when they found him not, they turned back again to Jerusalem, seeking him.
46 And it came to pass, that after three days they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the doctors, both hearing them, and asking them questions. And all that heard him were astonished at his understanding and answers. And when they saw him, they were amazed: and his mother said unto him, Son, why hast thou thus dealt with us? behold, thy father and I have sought thee sorrowing. And he said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be about my Father’s business?
Jesus was twelve and so a man as far as Jewry were concerned and was theoretically independent of His parents and could do what He wanted too. He stayed behind to do what to Him was more important than anything else: The teaching of The Kingdom of God. This is the first recorded thing He did as a man and shows how important it was too Him and so should also be to us.
He stated later on in His career
Joh 4:34 Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.
We too need to realise The Kingdom of God and its purposes are more important to us than anything else a man, church or denomination requires us to do (unless it is what Jesus requires us to do).
If we Love The Father and Jesus we will be doing their Will and representing their Kingdom. Otherwise that Kingdom will not be relevant to us and we are not living or promoting it as we should.
Jesus died on a cross. That was the sacrifice of Jesus and not His work
His work was described as doing good and preaching the gospel of The Kingdom (Mat 4:23). His doing good consisted of:
Demonstrating The Kingdom
Raising the dead Healing the sick Casting out demons
Explaining God’s requirements of The kingdom to us
Illustrating God’s intimate Love for all and especially to us because we are adopted children of The Father, and brother/ sister of Jesus.
Are you trying to let Jesus do these through you?
Are you really following Jesus?
Ministry cost Jesus everything What are you willing to give up to do the work of Jesus.
Jesus came to:
Destroy the works of the devil (1 Jn 3:8)
To Show us God’s Love (Jn 13:34)
Save all who would believe in Him (1 Jn 3:17)
Tell of our relationship to Father:
Jn 17:3 Tell us that salvation is a relationship with Jesus and The Father
Jn 17:6 To declare the Father’s Name (Authority)
Jn 17:14 To teach us the Father’s Words (teachings and requirements)
Jn 17:26 To show us the Father’s Love.
Jesus did these things by word and example.
It is recorded in the Gospels that Jesus went around doing good works and preaching the Gospel of The Kingdom, of which means that following Jesus, accepting what He did for us on the cross and desiring a relationship with Him and The Father (Jn17:3), is only the entry point to The Kingdom.
Jesus also taught the benefits of being a child of Father (i.e. a citizen of The Kingdom of Heaven) as well as the responsibilities of the Citizen of Fathers Kingdom.
He told us to preach repentance and remission of sins:
Luke 24:47 And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.
That we needed to turn from the world lifestyle to that of His and that God had removed all that hindered us from doing this.
He taught reconciliation with The Father through what He did at Calvary and that everything really began with the restoration of the relationship between yourself and God.
He taught the entrance to The Kingdom of God being a result of that restoration and that with it came privileges, benefits and requirements of which eternal life and rewards in heaven are two of these benefits.
He taught freedom from the kingdom of the enemy through this restoration and His authority over His enemy.
He taught the wholeness, both physical and spiritual that occurred through this restoration and also the healing that resulted from it.
He taught the relationship with Him and The Father was worth more than any other relationship we have, any possession we have, any ideal or purpose we have, and desire we have. The relationship with Him and The Father is worth much more than these.
He taught us to look to the next life where our rewards really are and not to this life where the rewards are transient and which can only satisfy for a short time.
He taught us to follow the purposes of The Father and then, as a child of The Kingdom, He would provide our needs but not our greeds.
He taught us that Love was more important than anything else because God is Love - A self-giving servant and if we reflect His nature, we will also be like that.
He taught us that God Loves us as we are and desires us to change for our best and not just for His purposes.
He taught us how to live this life through His example, even to the death on The Cross, and by this death brought into existence and confirmed everything He had preached and taught us about.
He taught us to seek first The Kingdom of God and His righteousness - To seek first the correctness of our relationship with God and the meeting of God’s requirement and then He would provide all we need. It is to be a relationship of Love and not of fearful obedience.
He taught us that God is Love and that we should never doubt this and that we should build our lives and our service on this relationship of Love.
Obedience was to be out of Love for God, by choice, by desire, by faith and not by fear of hellfire or fear of damnation or fear of judgment. Because judgment was removed at the cross, condemnation was removed at the cross, shame and guilt were removed at the cross and if we are in a correct relationship with Jesus and The Father there is none of these or fear of hellfire. These all come from Satan now.
Accordingly, we should fear these things no more and only fear the weakness of our flesh and the weakness of our lack of resolves in case we end up lukewarm, like the Laodecian church, which He will spew out of His mouth if they did not repent (Rev Ch. 3).
He taught that by trusting in the Love of God, we would be secure in the relationship with Him, The Father and The Holy Spirit, knowing full well that anything done for Jesus will never be wasted but have beneficial, eternal consequences. And as it is done in love, will only deepen the relationship we have with God and we will see God relate to us, meeting our needs in wonderful ways.
He intercedes for us With The Father now and in eternity
Heb 7:25.And he can give life for eternity to those who come near to God by him, for he lives always and offers prayers for our sakes.
Jesus is ruler of all so does not need to ask the permission of the Father for anything we need (Phil 2:10), so this intercession has to do with redemption.
The intercession is not so much by Jesus continually asking or reminding the Father of what He has done for us so that we are accepted by The Father. It is by virtue of His being there to show the Father that it is a finished work so that there is nothing needed to make us more acceptable to God!
Jn 14:2-3“There are many lodgings in my Father’s house, and if not, I would have told you, because I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go prepare a place for you, I shall come again and bring you to join me, that where I am you shall be also.”
Col 1:17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.
Jesus maintains all things, including the mansions, rewards and pleasures prepared for us in heaven. Nothing exists outside of God!
He will prepare us for heaven as well as for ministry on this earth:
Phil 1:6. Because I trust concerning this, that he who has begun good work in you will accomplish that until the day of Our Lord Jesus The Messiah.
It is through our obedience that He moulds us to His image and prepares us for ministry now and life in heaven afterwards.
Jesus gave the following commands to His disciples. If they do not ap-ply to us it leads to the ridiculous scenario that we do not have to tell people about Jesus and all that He did was limited to his own generation. It also means we are at the mercy of demons and cannot be used by God to heal or show His power or to demonstrate The Kingdom of God! This makes Christianity a very dull religion indeed.
What follows are what Christians should be doing. It was commanded of all His followers and not just the Apostles. The verses are as follows:
Mat 28:18-20 And Jesus spoke with them and he said to them, “All authority has been given to me in Heaven and in the earth; in the manner in which my Father has sent me, I am sending you Therefore go disciple all the nations and baptize them in the name of The Father and The Son and The Spirit of Holiness And instruct them to keep everything whatever I have commanded you, and behold, I am with you every day, even unto the end of time. Amen”
Mark 16:15. And he said to them, “Go to the entire world and preach my Good News in all creation. Whoever believes and is baptized has life, and whoever does not believe is condemned. But these signs will accompany these who believe: in my name they will cast out demons, and they will speak in new languages. And they will take up snakes, and if they should drink lethal poison, it will not harm them, and they will place their hands on the sick and they will be healed.”
Luke 22:19-20. He took bread and he gave thanks, he broke and he gave to them and he said, “This is my body, which shall be given for the sake of your persons. You shall be doing this to commemorate me. And thus also concerning the cup after they had dined, he said, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which shall be shed in your stead.
Luke 24:46-47 And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.
Jn15:12 This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.
Acts 1:8. “But when The Spirit of Holiness will come upon you, you shall receive power. You shall be witnesses to me in Jerusalem and in all Judea, and also among the Samaritans, and unto the borders of The Earth.”
A summary of what His follower should do is as follows:
They will teach all nations about Jesus and The Kingdom of
God as well as what He had taught and done for them
They will preach repentance and remission of sins (redemption) in Jesus’ Name
They will witness to Jesus in all the world
They will baptise people in the Name of the Trinity
They will teach people what Jesus requires of them
They will demonstrate The Kingdom of God, showing signs promised by Jesus to those whom have His delegated authority (all His followers so there is no excuse):
They shall cast out demons
They shall speak in new tongues
They shall capture serpents and scorpions (demons) They will drink poisons and these will not hurt them They shall heal the sick They will love others in the way Jesus loves them
They will fellowship together and remember what Jesus what Jesus did at Calvary when they eat together (have communion).
They will minister and be empowered by the The Holy Spirit
These are the marks that should be a part of the Christian life. Any Christian not living them is not following Jesus and what He commanded.
Any fellowship, church or denomination not doing them is not doing what Jesus commanded.
You either follow Him or try to follow Him as Lord or you are trying to serve Him and another master (yourself ). Jesus needs to be Lord of all of you do and say and not just of what you want to give Him (Matt 12:36). If you keep wholeheartedly trying to make Him lord of all then that is all that He requires as it the attitude of the heart that Jesus looks at when you do things.
You may not succeed but the important things it that you wholeheartedly tried to serve Jesus in the way He desires you too serve Him.
We need to do all the above with the same quality of Love with which Jesus loves us. If we Love like The Father does, we will forgive others their offences against us and avoid hell. Many Christians are in hell for not forgiving others (Mat 6:14-15).
Whom you love the most will be your focus. If you Love Jesus above all else He will be your focus and all you do will be related back to His Will for You. You will seek to know Him more intimately and strive to do His Will in all things.
If He or His Will is not your focus, then you have an idol that needs to be removed before intimacy can be resumed and the character of Jesus developed more in you. A person who wants to think and act Like Jesus (show His Character and attitudes) will focus on Jesus above all else in all that they do.
James 4:7 stated principle that if you draw near to God, and resist Satan, He will flee from you.
If you draw near to God through making him Lord of your life and developing the intimacy you have with Jesus, if you oppose Satan and cast him out he must leave immediately. The speed with which Satan leaves is as if he is fleeing for his life as the sense of the word ‘flee’ is as if he has suddenly vanished.
Developing intimacy with God is very important as the more intimate you become with God the more you will desire him and His things and the less you will desire what Satan offers even developing a hatred of Satan and his things so that you will vigorously pursue him, destroying his works and plans as well as seeking to remove people from his kingdom to that of Jesus.
This increased intimacy strengthens the relationship you have with Jesus, making it easier to submit to his Lordship and serve him.
Intimacy is a result of turning your heart towards Jesus and asking Him to fill it with Himself so that you become one with Him in heart and purpose.
“Intimacy with God” is a term used frequently by Christians. What does it mean and is ‘intimacy’ defined in The Bible?
The Bible does not define intimacy, but gives examples of it. Therefore, we cannot look to the Bible for a definition of this term.
Requirements for Intimacy
A relationship! If no relationship exists, intimacy cannot develop
Trust - You do not expose who you are to someone whom you do not trust
Respect - You must respect the person or you will not take them seriously
Love - There is no deceit or deception in the way you relate to them
Clear communication - This is important in the relationship and not just one-sided communication. This type of communication eliminates misunderstandings, which Satan could possibly use to cause strife, rejection and subsequent division
Like all relationships it takes time to develop and must be worked at.
The morning quiet time,
Conversing with The Holy Spirit throughout the day,
Meditating on who God is so you develop an appreciation and respect for him and appreciating what his Love has done for you.
All these thoughts help you develop your relationship with God as well as increased intimacy as the depth of the relationship grows deeper.
Intimacy, as used in The Bible, is a relationship with a close personal friend you trust for the purposes of sharing, helping and encouraging each other in things that are private and very personal to you which you do not want most others to know about. In a sense it is a form of deep fellowship as Christ and His purposes are central to the relationship.
The deepest intimacy is between you and God followed usually by that between spouses in a marriage which is why marriage is used to illustrate the relationship between God and you.
An intimate friend is one you to share your innermost heart with. He is there to help you in times of trouble supports you when you need it. He never asks for anything for doing these things but does them because he loves you.
The relationship of each member to each other is our example of the most intimate kind of relationship and fellowship that we can have.
In a sense, marriage is the physical representation of the spiritual relationship we have with Jesus. This is one reason why it is such an important relationship which is why Satan seeks to destroy it. A marriage which has the correct relationship between spouses can do much damage to the kingdom of Satan.
An intimate relationship is based on love, trust, and mutual respect and is characterized by transparency and exposure of your innermost thoughts and feelings, regardless of the form in which this communication occurs.
Because the highest type of intimate relationship is based on the principles in God’s love, this type of relationship is not easily damaged, and if any damage occurs, the repair to the relationship is usually done quickly because it is worth doing what is necessary to remove any problems in the relationship. This is the type of relationship a husband and wife should have as well as we should have with The Father, Jesus and The Holy Spirit.
The only reason for not developing an intimate relationship is when it will compromise your belief system and remove your self-worth in some way (because there is now a lack of love in the relationship), or if the relationship will require you to do something against the Law of God or against God’s Will.
In an intimate relationship the other person knows your deepest thoughts and help you to endure in your darkest hour, as well as share in the joys you have after these dark periods are over.
Intimacy with God has to do with the degree of our relationship with Him rather than with being in a unique type of relationship. It is the quality of the relationship that makes it special, not its characteristics, as these are common to all relationships. It is just that the degree of their expression in each type of relationship is different.
Intimacy with God is to do with our relationship to God as a friend and not as Lord and Master (as that is an authoritative relationship where we do what He commands). It is more to do with the time we spend in fellowship with Him and not the actual serving of Him. It is the relating to Jesus as a brother or sister and not as Lord and Master, as well as with The Holy Spirit as our Guardian and The Father as our personal Father.
All relationships with God and others, from a Christian’s perspective, should have God’s quality of Love in them because Christians are to demonstrate His Love in all they do. The difference in the quality of the love found in individual relationships is due to the varying degrees of trust and respect in that relationship (intimacy). As a relationship becomes less intimate, the degree of trust and respect (intimacy) grows less in intensity. The level of intimacy depends on these factors and, as the relationship grows, you can release more and more of yourself to the other person.
The relationship is also to be expressed correctly. You may love your wife, sister and aunt equally, but you hug your aunt and sister and only have sex with your wife.
In reality Christians should live such a life so that they are not afraid for people to know anything about them, because they have nothing to hide. The intimate friend, though, will know your innermost thoughts and problems. It is because this intimate friendship you are able to turn to these special friends to confide in them, be encouraged by them, and even advised by them. The intimate friend may be a counsellor, but these friends are mainly there to encourage you, listen to you unburden yourself and help you in times of adversity and weakness.
Remember that The Father and The Holy Spirit are there to comfort you. So do not neglect them in times of spiritual trials (2 Cor 1:3–4, Jn 14:16,26).
You spend time with each other, learning about each other and helping (serving) each other, building trust and respect for each other. So we need to spend time with God in fellowship to develop intimacy with Him and experiencing the relationship we have with Him. The more time we spend in fellowship with God, dialoguing with Him and learning about Him, the more we develop the intimacy between He and us. The more we know what is on His heart. The more we see and understand His Love for us. The more we will desire to be with Him and do what He desires us to do.
The most intimate friend we have is The Holy Spirit who lives in you and knows everything about you from a firsthand perspective and who has been sent to walk with you through life and guide you into what Jesus desires you to be. He lives in you and knows your every thought and prays for you when you do not know how or what to pray (Rom 8:26-27) which is why all things work for your best, even when you don’t know what to do (Rom 8:28) because we have God praying for us. What more do we need?
In conclusion, we can say that intimacy with God is a relationship that is special and unique because of the degree of trust and respect that is in it. It is an expression of our faith in and love for God and, like all relationships, it requires daily effort to maintain. Our relationship with God is special and distinctive because of the quality of it, not because it is unusual or different in characteristics from other types of relationships. It is furthermore, a relationship that results in eternity with Him in Heaven.
If you love and appreciate someone, you will spend time with them, and it is our love for Jesus that should encourage our desire for a deeper relationship with God and the spending of the time with Him that is necessary to deepen the relationship.
It is only as you love, respect and appreciate Jesus that you will develop a deeper relationship with Him.
Remember also that there are three people in The Trinity and each one needs to have an intimate relationship with them developed or your relationship to The Trinity will be lopsided.
Remember, if we relate to Jesus correctly and intimately we know how to relate correctly to The father and The Holy Spirit.
Before creation He had planned a life that was the best you could have (Eph 2:10)
He did not need to bring you into existence as He is complete in Himself. You are here primarily for your benefit. He derives pleasure in your obedience also and in the fellowship He has with you so these need to be cultivated in your life if you would please God and grow closer to Him.
If God has brought us into existence for our benefit is He going to do anything that would harm us?
All He has done is a result of His Grace towards you. Grace is the expression of His love towards you, even though you have done nothing to deserve it!
How did this Grace come to us?
We are told that Grace and truth came through Jesus (Jn 1:14,17).
Bringing us into existence for our benefit
Jesus coming to earth to teach us what God required of us
Eternal life in Heaven
A personal relationship with each member of The Trinity
His complete provision of all we need: emotionally, spiritually, mentally, physically and in ways we do not know and may not understand or realize now or in eternity and beyond
All these are a result of His Gracious Love expressed to each one of us personally.
Jesus only gave us one command (Jn13:34-35). All He did or commanded of us flows from this which can be summarized as:
To love all as God loves you!
If we do not have this love nature in us we will not minister in The Kingdom of God as we should.
Without God’s quality of Love as the basis of all we do, anything we do becomes fruitless in some way for the purposes of The Kingdom of God.
We will only have faith in God and His promises to the extent we trust His Love
You would be like Jesus? Then love as He Loves!
How do we express our Love to God?
We love God because He first Loved us. In other words we love God because of what He has done for us.
Jesus said our love for Him would be shown by our keeping His commandments because we love Him and desire to keep them. Not because we are afraid of Him and hellfire!
We show we love God by desiring to be with Him as well as serving Him out of love and gratitude for what He has done for us and not out of desire for reward or fear of hell fire!
Through the tender and sweet way we relate to The Father, The Holy Spirit and Jesus and in the way we serve the people they send us to serve on their behalf because God’s quality and type of Love is in us.
By seeking the best for the King (Jesus) and His things of The Kingdom because of our love for The King and The Father and desiring what is best for them and The Kingdom.
Trusting the King for all that happens to us as His citizens (in other words trusting His Love towards us).
Humility because of what God has done for us and the fact He desires to relate to us.
In moderation in all we do as citizens so that we do not abuse what The Father and Jesus have given us to do or to care for as stewards of the things He has trusted us with.
By the way we express love and gratitude to God serving out of love for them in all we do for The Father and Jesus.
A person who loves a God will wait for His timing to do things and will trust God with what God is doing. Even though He cannot see anything happening
They will serve God in any way they can and be careful with His things
They serve God and not man’s will and willingly help others do the work do of God even if they do not get any recognition from it as their joy is in serving God and not in man’s recognition of their service
They are sensitive to the feelings of others and will not hurt people to promote themselves as it reflects adversely on God
They do not do anything that will bring discredit to God’s Name, Holiness, Character and other of His things
They do not promote them self in worldly things but seek always The Glory of God
They are patient in doing what God gives them regardless of what others say to them or do about them
They do not get angry with God and always trust Him for what He is doing. Thinking only good about Him because they realize His love for them is in all He allows to happen to them.
They joy is in doing good as it is an expression of God whom they love
They look for the expression of God in others and not negative things and help people draw closer to God
They seek the good of people as it draws people closer to God whom they love and will do what is necessary for people to become more intimate with God
Their love for and appreciation of God and what He has done for them sustains their desire to serve and represent Him in a correct way
In their relationship with God and others they express His Character (The Fruit of The Spirit and His Quality of Love)
When a person understands the relationship they have with Jesus and others as citizens of His Kingdom then their perspective changes.
You realize that you cannot do anything without affecting another person in The Kingdom in some way. Even if only indirectly.
You realize that you are part of a whole and not just an individual in The Kingdom. Paul uses the analogy of the body to show this relationship.
Any group that places itself between The King and you divides The Kingdom. Even if they declare they are serving The King. Denominations do this unfortunately and hide The Kingdom by being themselves a sort of kingdom.
You realize also that it may be necessary to sacrifice individuals in the battle for the good of the whole. In other words, the good of The Kingdom may require individuals to face trial and suffering and be martyred. But you also realize how The King rewards these that suffer and/or are so sacrificed.
A citizen who realizes these things will gladly sacrifice themselves out of love for their king and the betterment of their fellow man. And will face danger and rejection for the purposes of The Kingdom and the betterment of the others in The Kingdom.
It is the love of Jesus and His Kingdom that places this attitude within us.
Those who follow God must believe He rewards those who obediently serve Him (Heb. 11: 6). The rewards we receive are appropriate to our service (Gal 6:7-8). The quality and quantity of our reward in heaven will depend on how we served Jesus.
Jesus determines your rewards as well as how much praise, honour and glory you are to receive for your service to Him. He may use people to reward you but if He is not the source behind these then rewards and recognition are empty and are a result of man’s reason and not of God rewarding you and so have no eternal significance or benefit.
Because these rewards and recognition will be of man and not of God, Satan will use them to cause problems to all involved in these.
So when rewarded or given glory or honour check the source of it and if it is God then thank Him you are worthy to be used by Him in such a way as to receive these rewards or recognition. If they not from God then do not accept them. It is a snare of Satan to affect you adversely in your Christian life.
Just because a reward, certification or promotion comes from church does not necessarily mean it is from God. In fact some ministers are surprised in heaven to find they do not have a mansion. They received their rewards on earth through the way they were paid and the adulation of the congregations they served. They were serving them self and not Jesus.
The Christian life is the expression of the relationship we have with Jesus and The Father as citizens of The Kingdom of God being guided and empowered by The Holy Spirit. If your relationship is not right with God you will need deliverance or repentance to take it where it should be so that you can live as God desires you to live.
Remember, the relationship with Jesus and The Father is the most important relationship you will ever have as how you relate to them in this world will determine your eternal fate.
Jesus said His followers who followed Him completely as their lord would:
Preach and demonstrate The Gospel of The Kingdom
Train those who responded to live as He desires them too
Heal the sick
Cast our demons
Show His quality of Love in their lives
Would be willing to suffer and die for Him because they loved Him so much.
If you are following Jesus you will do these things. Or learn how to do them
A Warning from Jesus
21. It is not everyone that says to me, ‘My Lord, my Lord’’, who enters the Kingdom of Heaven, but whoever does the will of my Father who is in Heaven.
22. Many will say to me in that day, ‘My Lord, my Lord, have we not prophesied in your name, and in your name have cast out demons, and have done many mighty works in your name?’
23. And then I will confess to them, ‘I have never known you, remove yourselves far from me, you workers of evil.’
If Jesus is my love
I will delight to be with Him at all times and
It will give me great joy to be in His presence.
I will willingly do things with Him and for Him
I will willingly serve Him with my whole heart
and What He asks me to do will be a joy
and will never be too hard.
I will spend as much time as I can with Him
Learning about Him
Enjoying His presence
Seeking what He wants of me
And His purposes for me.
I will desire the day I will fellowship
face to face with Him
forever in heaven
The relationship with Him
will give me so much pleasure and joy
That I will desire it
above all else
Such should my attitude to Jesus be!
You are my first love, My beloved
I desire always to be in your presence
with your love surrounding me
filling my heart with Joy
I long to sit with you and talk with you
as we share our hearts in love and Joy
as we exchange words of love and endearment.
My beloved, you are mine and I am Yours
Your love for me is infinite and eternal
encompassing all my needs
Now and in eternity
What can my beloved give me
that He has not given me already?
What more can my beloved promise in eternity
That He has not already promised?
How much more can He give than Himself?
My beloved I am yours and desire no other
I have no desire but to be with you and to serve you
I have no greater desire than to love you with all I am
No greater desire than to spend eternity in your presence.
You are my love and my life beloved
Now and forever
If Jesus is your first love every other love will be secondary and the love relationship you have with Him will influence everything you do!
They desire each other’s company, to be with each other and hear each other’s voice, to serve each other and look after the things of the other as well as their own. They do all this out of love for them and will sacrifice themselves or their possessions if necessary for the sake of this love. They trust each other and desire what is best for the other. To be away from the other causes heartache and distress until they are safely restored to the love relationship.
The desire of your love is Jesus and you seek to please him in all you do. If you love Him then you will do all you can to deepen the relationship with Him because you desire Him so much. You also know life on earth is a period of training for heaven where you will get to know Jesus better. So you should seek those things that help you in developing and maturing this closeness with Him.
You are in a preparatory period on earth and should use this period wisely to you prepare yourself to spend eternity with your first love.
This period is preparation for the marriage supper of the lamb where the actual fellowship supper will take place and then you will live for eternity with your first love in one of His mansions He has prepared for you where He will provide for all your need and give you delights beyond knowledge in His presence and in His Love.
Your love for Jesus should be so strong and beautiful that there can be no thought of ever leaving Him or harming Him in any way.
Where is my beloved?
That I can go to Him
Be with Him
and rest in His Love
Where is my beloved
That I may delight in His Voice
And Share my heart with Him
Where is He
Who will give me purpose and life
Who will love me as I need to be loved?
Strengthen me my beloved
So i can find you
more and more each day
So I can be with you forever!
Your relationship to your beloved began when God made you so you could be with Him in eternity where He would provide all your needs. Not just in this life but forever in the next life with Him.
When this relationship was broken He sought to restore it and made it possible through Himself (God manifested in the flesh). He is calling you to follow Him and sit with Him in eternity, to develop this love relationship further.
The relationship began because of God’s Love for you when you were yet unborn and is carried on now through your relationship to Jesus as your Lord and your greatest love.
I do not understand my beloved
How you can love me
But I know you do
and I love you because of that
In my rebellion you sought me
Then died for me
So I could once again be with you
In the way you desired in the beginning
You saw what I could be
and not what I was
and desired me to ber with you
Now and in eternity
God sees you as someone He loves and whom He desires to fellowship with and serve because you love Him.
Jesus desires you to serve Him because He is your beloved. Not because He is Lord. If He is not your beloved and you serve Him only because He is Lord, you have the lesser of the two relationships. The demons serve Him because He is Lord and not because they love Him but because they have too.
Matthew 22:37-40 Yeshua said to him, “You shall love THE LORD JEHOVAH your God from all your heart and from all your soul and from all your power and from all your mind. This is the great and the first commandment. And the second which is like it is, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’
On these two commands depend all The Written Law and The Prophets.”
John 17:25-26 “My Righteous Father, although the world has not known you, I have known you, and these have known that you have sent Me. And I have revealed to them your Name, and I am revealing it, so that the love with which you have loved me shall be in them, and I shall be in them.””
John 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.
My beloved asks and I hasten to do His Will
My desire is to serve Him
and tell others of His Love
So they too can enjoy what I have been given by Him
Hasten My Love to tell me Your Will
So I can do it for you
And give you pleasure and Joy in my love for you
So that my joy in You will be complete
Jesus gave the following commands to His disciples. He desires you to do these out of love for Him as well as gratitude and thanksgiving for what He has done for you and not because you are afraid not to do them.
If you do not tell others about Him it shows how little you really do value the relationship because you think it is not worth telling others about it.
We are the representatives of Him and His Kingdom and are to proclaim, teach and demonstrate His Kingdom and its Character on earth to all who do not follow Him or do not know Him personally. By this to show that He and His Kingdom is worthy of being loved because of what He has done for them and you.
Jesus said (summarising His last statements before He rose into heaven).
“All power (authority) is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in My name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved;
but he that believeth not shall be damned. And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover and, lo, I amwith you always, even unto the end of the world.”
As you can see, Jesus desires us to tell others about His Love for them, what He has done for them, as well as what He can and will for them as well as teach them how to receive these things and obey Jesus in the doing of His Will.
If you Love Jesus you will do this for Him.
Luke 22.19 -20 And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me. Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you.
Luke 24:46-47 And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.
Jn 15:12 This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.
Acts 1:4, 8 4 And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me. …But ye shall receive power, after that the Power of the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
A summary is as follows:
If you love Jesus you will do your best to do His Will in the things He has commanded. You will:
Teach all Nations (make disciples for Him)
Preach repentance and remission of sins in the Name of Jesus
Tell of His redemption of them
Witness to Jesus in all the world
Baptise His followers in the Name of the Trinity
Demonstrate the signs (the expression of The Kingdom of God on earth) promised by Jesus to those whom have His delegated authority:
Cast out demons
Heal the sick
Speak in new tongues
Drink poisons and dangerous animals will not hurt you
Love others as Jesus loves them
Fellowship together and remember Jesus when they eat together as well as what He did and taught.
Wait for God for The Holy Spirit to empower them then minister as directed by Him.
If Jesus is your first love you will do these things and they will be a natural expression of your love for Him as you will delight to tell others about your beloved, what He has done for you and what He can do for them. You will also demonstrate the power and authority of His Kingdom.
My Love, strengthen me to do these things
so that You are Glorified and lifted up
for all to see and love
So that they will desire to relate to you
and serve you
because of the Love you have shown to them
and will show them
Guide me my love
So I can show how much you love them
And so they will desire you
and love you
In the way I desire and love you
If you do not do these things out of Love for Jesus you need to find out why and deal with the issues preventing you from expressing your love for Jesus.
Perhaps deliverance is necessary on some part of your life so you can be free to fully enter into the love relationship you should have with Jesus, your first love
Show me what is on your heart
That which you desire and hold dear
So I too can hold these precious
And serve you in these
So I can use them
as you desire them used
for the purposes of Your Kingdom
For the purposes of Your Love
Do you desire what is on the heart of Jesus, to make it what your heart desires because you love Him so much that His desires are all that matter to you?
Do you desire to care for the things of His heart, of all that He holds dear, if only because you love Him and are grateful for what He has done for you and desire to intimately serve Him in all your life does?
Do you love His things as if they were your own and care for them as if they are the most precious things in the world to you?
If you truly love Jesus you will care for His things and do this out of love for Him and not for reward or gain!
Before creation You existed!
God and Saviour
Ruler of All
Redeemer of All
waiting for the time when you could come to earth
and show God’s Love to me
God of ALL Love
John, in his gospel history, commences it by informing people about Jesus: Who Jesus is, His credentials and His reasons for doing what He did (v1-5).
His credentials as God are listed by John:
He is God
He was there before time began
He made all things
He is the life of all people
God revealed himself to people but they could not understand this revelation (v 4-5) which is why Jesus came to explain God’s requirements (v7)
Jesus reveal God (The Father) to mankind (v6-9).
John The Baptist revealed Jesus was the person God was going to use to rescue people from the world system of Satan and instruct them about God’s requirements of them.
Jesus would be rejected (v10-11)
The world He made was now ruled by His enemy, who rejected His authority in this world. Even His chosen people did not understand what was required of them (v17)
He would give life to all who believe in Him (v12-13)
Those who accepted Jesus and placed their trust in Him, obeyed His requirements of them and carried out His purposes would become God’s children (by adoption) and would be Loved by God. They would live with God forever! In the beautiful place He had made for them called heaven.
He was seen by people as a man (v14-15)
He has finished His work as a man (v16)
Jesus has come and finished His work. We can receive no more from Jesus as He has given it all already. We now need to mature into what He has done for us.
He Taught What God requires (v17)
He taught us about God’s Love and truths so we can live as God requires of us. He gave us The Holy Spirit to help us (Jn 16:13) in this and in fact The Holy Spirit is your teacher who gives you under- standing of the things of God.
Jesus could teach what God required as He had seen God because He is God (v18).
We did not know we needed to be saved or relate to Him as our first love. God’s Grace has shown us this and it is nothing we did or are capable of doing.
What more can your first love do for you than He has already done?
Your words are life and give me Joy
They guide me in all I do
They tell of your Love for me
They tell of what you have done for me
They tell of all you have prepared for me
They tell of our togetherness in eternity
Truly your words give me Hope and Joy
and are my strength,
My life and Pleasure
in all I do
My beloved is Mine
and His words are of me and for me
What more can I ask
What more can I desire.
Except to speak your heart to all
So that only your words are heard
In all I say
It is as we express this love relationship in our life His purposes are done and His Kingdom expanded.
He taught us that God is Love and that we should never doubt this and to build our lives and service on this relationship of Trust in His Love. Obedience is out of love for your first love, by choice, by desire, by faith and not by fear of hellfire, fear of damnation or fear of judgment.
Judgment was dealt with at the cross for all who follow Him, condemnation was removed at the cross, shame was removed at the cross, guilt was removed at the Cross and the Law was declared to no longer affect us as we are no longer under The Law but under God’s Grace as found in Jesus because of what Jesus did on the cross as a result of His Love for us.
There is no more legalism but Compassion and Mercy. God is now able to express His Love to you fully and in that Love there is acceptance of who you are as a person and the full expression of His stewardship of you.
How wonderful is God’s Love
That He Loves me as I am
That it accepts that I am dust
That I am not perfect
And will sin
And has already
Provided the remedy for sin
So that I am able to relate to Him
And love Him as my most intimate friend
As my chief Love
Because He loves you, you should fear these things no more and only fear the weakness of any lack of resolve in doing His Will in case you end up lukewarm, like the church He will spew out of His mouth.
You should trust in His Love for you, being secure in the relationship with Him, The Father and The Holy Spirit knowing full well that anything done for you, by them, will never be wasted. But will have eternal consequences. It will only deepen your relationship with Jesus as you see God meet your needs in wonderful ways because of His love for you. After all, what person does not provide for their beloved abundantly above what they desire from them?
This relationship can only be really occur in unity with Jesus (through the common Holy Spirit in you both) which relationship is desired because Jesus is your beloved!
These desires only occur when you have the same purposes and direction as Jesus as you are one in mind with His Will and desires.
When He is your beloved you will do all necessary to develop this relationship and do the things He wants you to do.
How do I draw closer to you my beloved
How do I become one with you in heart and purpose
So that your Will is my will
Your heart my heart
And all I do is a reflection of you
Be my teacher, strength and guide my beloved
So I can please you and give you joy
because my heart and mind are as yours
And no longer are of my flesh
So I can be one with you now and in eternity
To deepen this relationship you need to be able to hear The Holy Spirit so He can to guide you on behalf of Jesus
You must be willing to act on what you are told by the Holy Ghost
You must be willing to pay the cost required to act on what you hear
You must be willing to put the purposes of Jesus ahead of your own purposes.
You must be willing to pay whatever price you need too to do His work
These are achieved through obedience to the Holy Spirit and is done out of love for Jesus and a resultant desire to do His will without recognition or reward and are done because of the love you have for Him as your first love. This love is a result of thankfulness and gratitude for what He has done for you at Calvary, is doing for you now and will do for you in the future on earth and in eternity.
True service for Jesus is done out of love for him and without any desire for recognition or reward.
It is the result of an appreciation of what He suffered for you at Calvary as well as of the freedom and provision He gives you because of His Love for you.
Purify my love my beloved
My thoughts, purposes and desires also
Strengthen me to suffer
what I must To do this
To remove all that stands between You and I
So that we become one
In heart, mind and purpose
now and in eternity
Your Love for Jesus must be pure and not tainted by being for the things He has done for you, is doing for you or will do for you. These encourage you to love Him but should not be the reason you love Him. You should love Him because of who He is (your first love) and not because of what He can do for you.
You love Him because He first loved you. Your love for Him is there in spite of anything that happens as it is not based on things He can do for you, or gifts, or meeting your desires. But is based on the beauty of who He is as a person as well as the relationship He has with you as your first love.
Your love for Him will not be affected by anything that He allows to happen to you as your love is not based on what He is doing for or to you. But on who He is and What He has done for you in the past (Salvation, intimacy, maturing you, freedom from Satan etc.). Because what He allows or does is out of His love for you. You know it is best for you so that you will not question what is happening or complain about it. But be thankful that He is maturing you through it and making you more like Him and through this making it possible for you to get closer to Him.
This is love at its purest and is the love demanded of Christians to each other and of you to your first love, Jesus.
Your love for Jesus must develop so it is unconditional, not dependant on what He or others have done, are doing or going to do for you. It is Love for who He or they are as a person. For who they are and not for what they appear to be!
When you have this love for Him and others you can then worship and obey in Holy Unity with Him and other Christians.
Love is the basis of all ministry.
Your Love lifts me up
And rescues me from the darkness
So I will serve You
Because I love you
Because you have first loved me
I love to serve you
To show your Love as I serve
So that only You are seen
So that only You are Glorified
How is this quality of Love shown??
You desire to serve Him and promote Him and His things above yourself and your own things.
You love as He does the person being ministered too because they belong to your beloved Jesus.
You are grateful how Jesus has made you so you desire to serve His purposes so others can be like He has made you.
A minister is a servant, in love humbling themself to serve another and promote Jesus by what is done in this service as well as help the other person know Jesus in some way through the service (even if only by their example of Jesus in their loving service).
They know all service is to Jesus first and as He directs to others out of His love for them so they too desire this love toward the person they serve so they can serve them as Jesus desires them to serve them.
Evangelism is love for others to know Jesus as Saviour and their chief love and have the relationship with Him that He desires them to have with Him, which you already have with Him.
The deliverance ministry is out of love for the person that desires to free them from all the hurts Satan placed on them so they can be fully free and healed, serve Jesus as He desires them to serve Him and relate to Jesus as He desires them too relate to Him.
Pastoral Ministry is out of love for the person, helping them through problems so they can endure and be like Jesus desires them to be.
The basis of teaching is love for the person so you will impart to them what they need to know to be like Jesus desires them to be.
Service to Jesus may appear to have no reward but that does not matter as He is your first love and you are pleased to be able to serve Him as He asks, regardless of any results of the service being seen by you.
The basis of all ministry is love for the person. So you serve them and help them to be like Jesus desires them to be, in a relationship with Him as their first love.
Strengthen me beloved
So I never deny or reject you
But in all I do I will declare your Love
And strengthen others to love you And serve you
As You served The Father when on earth.
Let not my life be so precious to me
That I deny you to keep it
But let it count nothing
for the purposes of gaining heaven
And of being in your presence forever
What happens if you deliberately do not do His work or obey His commands?
There is a warning
Heb 6:4-6 But those who have descended once to baptism and tasted the gift from Heaven and received The Spirit of Holiness, And tasted the good word of God and the power of the future world, Who would sin again and again crucify The Son of God, and become contemptible, cannot be renewed to conversion.
You can reject The Holy Spirit’s attempt for you to repent to the degree you lose your salvation and cannot renew it again.
If you deny Jesus, you reject Him and turn your back on Him. He is no longer your first love and you are in danger of hell fire (Rev 3:5).
You deny Jesus when you purposely ignore, modify or compromise His principles in any way by adding to them, taking away anything from them, altering them, rejecting them outright, rationalise or compromise them or not defending them to others as they are found in His Bible. The altering of any verse is a denial of Jesus in some way, unless it is to make the verse more clearer.
You deny Jesus when something becomes more important than His requirements.
Do you defend His name when it is used as blasphemy?
Do you defend His moral code or purposes when they are misused or rejected?
Do you declare what He has done for mankind when you have a chance to do so?
Do you show His love to others when you are able to?
Do you identify with Him when it is necessary to do so?
Do you reject Him as your first love and thus reject His Love for you?
Do you demonstrate His Kingdom in the way He did when you have opportunity do to so?
Abstaining from doing something when you should act is passive denial, and a rejection of what Jesus wants you to do.
To not do in any way what Jesus desires is idolatry as you make your will more important than the Will of Jesus.
Every time you willingly disobey Jesus (even if only through inactivity) you deny (reject) Jesus.
Every time you do not uphold the Name of God or a Person of The Trinity you deny Jesus
If you have rebelled you need to repent and do what Jesus wants you to do as this restores the love relationship with Him as your first love.
Where are you my love?
Why do you seem so far from my sighing?
How long must I suffer
This apparent separation
How long until I see your face again?
Strengthen me to endure trials
To suffer because of my love for You
So that people will see
You are worthy
To follow and suffer for
If Jesus is your first love, you will suffer for Him and rejoice in it as you are serving your first love and helping Him achieve His purposes! You will be thankful also that you can give Him pleasure through your love for Him being expressed this way and through the willingness and endurance you show in the way you face the trial so that you will work through it until it ends.
Your love expressed this way gives Him Joy and truly shows that He is your first love!
Your life will be judged by Jesus and He will look at how you related to Him during it as well as what you did on earth with the life He gave you. He will see if He was your first love or just another person to love and on this will depend your salvation and eternal life.
May we on arriving in heaven hear the words:
Welcome my beloved,
My good and faithful servant
Enter into the Joy of your reward.
Do you love me
do you desire to hear my voice
and be in my presence
Do you desire to serve me
and protect my things
and tell others of my Love for you?
Do you hang on my every word
and race to perform it and please me
and to give me the Honour and Glory as it is done?
Do you desire me as your first love
and love me as such
and treat me as such?
Are you preparing yourself
to spend eternity
with me in My House?
I am your first love
am I important to you?
am I desirable to you?
I long for you
to spend time with me
to sit beside me
When will you turn your face to me
and gaze upon my Love for you
and seek only me above all
Come my beloved
Your first love says come
Enter into your rest with me
I am your beloved and you are mine
Come my Beloved.
I await you
According to your vision of whom, Jesus is, will be: Your understanding of whom He is what He has done for you as well as:
Your Love for Him
Your appreciation of His Love for you
Your gratitude for what He:
Has done for you,
Is doing for you and
Will do for you
Now and forever
Jud 1:24-25 Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.
