God created everything so owns it but allows us to use for His purposes and our own enjoyment. This means we are stewards of these things which says in The Bible:

1Co 4:1 Let a man so account of us, as of the ministers of Christ, and stewards of the mysteries of God.

1Co 4:2 Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.

We are stewards of all God has given us or allowed for us to have:

Relationships with God and people

Our Spirit, soul. Body. Mind. Flesh

All we control such as people we employ, pets we have etc.

Welook after:

The property of the owner (Jesus)

The staff of the household (family)

The finances of the owner

Whatever the owner desires them to do (Lordship)

God is the owner of all we are steward of so we need to use them as He tells us too.

For correct stewardship to occur, Jesus must be Lord of your life and you need to be guided by The Holy Spirit when The Bible is silent or not clear about what you are to do.

He must be Lord of your:

Objectives and purposes

What you are steward of.

Otherwise in all these areas you may not do what He requires you to do.

We are responsible for correctly using them and will have to explain to God why we did not use anything we have authority over in a correct manner.

To do this we need to be able to hear and understand what God requires us to do with anything we have so we use it according to His requirements.

This means we need to be able to hear the guidance of The Holy Spirit and know what God’s requirements for how we use things as found in The Bible.

This is why we need to study The Bible and learn to clearly hear The Holy Spirit 24/7.

You will not be in trouble with God for wholeheartedly trying to do His Will and failing but for not trying to do His Will in the use of somethings He has trusted you with.

Stewardship is God trusting you to do correctly with what He has given you to look after for Him.

Stealing is removing from another an object God has made them steward of without Him giving you permission to do so.

Do you ask Jesus what to do when The Bible is silent or not clear about the matter in hand?

The Holy Spirit has been given to you to guide you in all areas which is why we should always have one ear listening for His advice and guidance.

So who rules your life?

You or Jesus?

Your salvation and eternal life depend on this
